Fibre Optic Cable
A medium for transmission comprised of many glass fibres. Light emitting diodes send light through the fibre to a detector that converts the light back to an electrical signal for interpretation. Advantages include huge bandwidth, and immunity to eavesdropping, interference and radio activity.
